Is Flyfishing A Pain In The Neck? - Questions

1. How often do you flyfish? (daily/weekly/monthly/yearly)

2. What type of flyfishing do you do MOST? (coldwater/warmwater/saltwater)

3. What other types of flyfishing do you do? (cold/warm/salt)

4a. Have you ever been diagnosed with an orthopaedic condition, seen an orthopaedist, rheumatoloigist, chiropractor, or general medical doctor for a joint or back problem?

4b. What was/were the diagnosis(es)?

4c. What was/were the treatment(s)?

4d. Have you ever had orthopaedic surgery? What type?

5a. Do you have back pain?

5b. If you have back pain, how often?

5c. How bad is your back pain at its worst (0-no pain to 10-horrible can't walk, move etc)?

5d. Is your back pain made better/ worse/ no change with flyfishing? If so how would you rank your pain while fishing (0-no pain to 10-horrible can't walk, move etc)?

5e. Do you take any medications for back pain ? If so what, when, and how often?

6a.Do you have other joint pain? If so WHERE? Please answer the next few question for EACH location of pain or problems.

6b. If you have other joint pain, how often?

6c. How bad is your other joint pain at its worst (0-no pain to 10-horrible can't walk, move etc)?

6d. Is your other joint pain made better/ worse/ no change with flyfishing? If so how would you rank your pain while fishing (0-no pain to 10-horrible can't walk, move etc)?

6e. Do you take any medications for other joint pain ? If so what, when, and how often?

7. Do you wear any braces, splints, magnets or other supportive devices?

8. Do you take any over-the-counter or herbal types of medications for your orthopaedic pain? (such as chondroitin-sulfate, shark cartilage, etc?)
