General & Always Useful Fly Fishing Gifts

Are you starting to think that your flyfishing brother is getting tired of receiving ties with a fishing fly design every Christmas? Let's see if we can help find something that will be of value and appreciated by your flyfishing friend.

Have you had to put up with constant complaints after every fishing outing about cold and wet body parts? Perhaps a new pair of waders are in order. Be sure you know what style of waders are wanted, and check out this breathable waders field test report done recently by Fly Fish America.

As well as waders, most fly anglers carry their flies and tackle around while wearing a vest with tons of pockets. A new vest would be an appreciated gift if the old one is starting to get tattered, or perhaps it was originally bought when the wearer was 30 pounds lighter. One that fits better will be much more comfortable! For a selection of vests, take a look at our Waders & Vests category.

While we're looking at stuff that fly anglers wear, why not consider a good quality outdoor shirt? You can even wonderful looking and comfortable shirts them personalized from Trinity Outdoors. Although not fishing related, if you need to buy something for the hunter, these folks have a great selection of game calls, videos, and other hunting accessories.

If your not comfortable with clothing and items that need you to know the right size, how about considering some fly fishing art? In our Art category, you will find some great links to fly fishing related art, including works in oil, ink, and other mediums.

There are some great stocking stuffers that any fly angler would appreciate from Santa Claus. How about a new fly box? A box of hooks will fit quite easily into even the smallest sock filled with bits of coal. It probably won't matter too much what size hooks - most flyfishers will use a huge variety of sizes and styles. Right now, Lines End has a great deal on quantities of 50 Dai-Riki hooks of various sizes and styles. Take advantage of it!

A small light that clips onto a vest will also always come in handy. As well, there other gadgets that fly fishers find useful. Many of the stores and suppliers listed in our Fly Shops category will have these items available.

It just might be renewal time for that favorite flyfishing magazine too! Why not consider renewing it as a gift, or perhaps adding to the publications that come monthly? There are a wide variety of excellent magazines related to the sport of fly fishing.

If you're buying for a flyfisher who is also a bookworm, there are some great suggestions in our Bookstore!

If you can't find the "Caution, Stops On Bridges" bumper sticker, check these ones out from Round Rocks Fly Fishing.
