From cryptographer to lawyer but always a fly fisher.
John Guldin has had two very interesting careers including one with the military with the position of "Intercept/Cryptology", and now as a lawyer. Although his careers have taken up a lot of his time, he has never abandoned the love for fly fishing that was instilled in him since his youth.
John was taught by his father to both fly fish and tie and has passed his passion on to others by through teaching fly tying and casting. He is also blessed with a wife that shares his passion, and who holds several IGFA Women's Fly Rod World Records. As well as writing articles on fly fishing, John has given back to his sport in many other ways as well. He holds membership in IGFA, the Lehigh River Stocking Association, Trout Unlimited and is a Former President of the Lower Nazareth Rod and Gun Club. He also has provided legal services to Monocacy Field and Stream Club. Today, John continues to fly fish both salt and freshwater while developing new fly patterns that are successful for him. He provides consultation services for the testing of new fly fishing rods, reels and accessories, and of course keeps busy with his professional work, having been named to the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Northampton County Bar Association, Lehigh County Bar Association [Associate Member] and as a lecturer for the PA Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Program. He is also a current member of Real Estate Advisory Committee, Lehigh Carbon Community College and former Associate Professor of Business Law, Lehigh Carbon Community College.
